Adopted in 2005

ALL OF THE DOGS ON THIS PAGE HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS PLEASE CLICK HERE!

Blanca

Blanca is a small, very skinny, skittish dog around 2-3  years old.  She weighs in at 19 pounds.  She is quiet, housebroken, good with other dogs and cats, but reserved around unfamiliar people.  She knows the command "sit" and is working on "come." She loves to run and chase squirrels.  She will follow you around the house, but is not very needy.  She just wants to be in the same room you are in and is content to look out the window or settle on a dog bed nearby.  She rides well in a car.  We think that she will be a one person dog given that she has bonded like guerrilla glue to one of her foster providers.  She becomes anxious for several moments when she is out of sight, but eventually settles.  She is not destructive. As with many foster dogs, foster care is a time of transitions, and we have seen daily changes in her personality and confidence.  She was found as a stray, and we believe that she would do well with another dog in the home.  We do not know how she would be with children.  She does not like being in a crate.  Blanca will be your devoted companion, ready for snuggles or play at your whim.

Foxy

Foxy is a cute 14 lb female Pomeranian Eskimo-mix dog. You couldn't ask for a nicer small white fluffy dog! She is housetrained, and about 6 years old. She has a heart murmur and a luxating patella (moving kneecap) and otherwise is healthy and perky. Foxy likes to sit close to people rather than sitting on laps. Foxy is more people-focused than dog-focused; she gets along with other dogs but does not play with them. She tolerates children well.

She is a little puffy sweetheart with a lovely personality.

Hunter

Hunter, Male Labrador Retriever Mix, 2 years

Hunter is a terrific young male mixed breed with the energy and enthusiasm of a typical lab. He has lived with the same family for the past two years after being adopted at 8 week of age. Because Hunter was alone 9 hours a day his family felt it would be best for him to have more people-interaction time. He is housebroken, crate trained, walks very well on the gentle leader and is a really sweet guy. What Hunter needs most is more exercise and a family who is available to spend more time with him. He did very well with the two dogs in his foster home and has lived with a cat as well.

Ember

Ember. This sweet little 2 year old girl was found tied to the porch of a house. Her owner had been evicted and the best she could see fit to do for her best friend was leave her alone; helpless to fend off stray dogs, hunger and fear. She was taken to a shelter and because the animal control officer knew who her owner was, Ember was spared the fast track to euthanasia. She languished in a cage while attempts were made to find the person who had abandoned her. Eventually, Ember’s days were up, but by then the shelter personnel realized what a good dog she is and that she should have the chance to find a home that would return the love she so desperately wants to give. Ember is very affectionate with humans. She becomes stressed until she knows neither dog nor human will hurt her. Her foster family believes she suffered some physical abuse. Ember is great with children and adults. She might do well in a home with another dominant dog, but probably should not be placed with cats. She is housetrained, knows sit, down and comes running when called. Everyone who meets her, remarks on how her fur feels like velvet, how pretty she is and most of all: how loving she is.

Abby

Abby is an 8-month-old Boxer and perhaps Greyhound mix. She is full of energy and playfulness and loves other dogs. After several months in area shelters, when she arrived at her foster home this little cutie was so excited to get outside and be in a grassy yard that she ran in circles for 40 minutes. She only weighs about 30 pounds, so she fits almost any lap. She is as smart as a whip and understands down, sit, and paw. She is housetrained, has no food or toy aggression, and is adjusting to walks on the gentle leader. She has an enormous amount of love and loyalty to offer. In spite of her unlucky start in life, Abby does not begrudge mankind and she greets each person with an open heart and hopeful eyes.

Harley

Harley is under 2 years old, a friendly, calm, healthy dog who passed our temperament evaluation. Harley loves to run, and a fenced yard is a must for this Boxer boy. He is crate trained, but because he behaves so well in the house, he is only crated when left alone. Harley gets along with other dogs and he used to love to run in a dog park before he was given up. We don't know how he is with cats.

Harley has been adopted!

Buka

Buka is a nine year old Yellow Lab-Beagle blend, and natural born Therapy Dog -- or Nursing Home Comfort Dog -- or companion in the workplace. He has the air of a seasoned ambassador, greeting and chatting with everyone in a room. You simply feel at home with Buka, serene and happy. When Buka meets you for the first time, he reclines quietly in the background, with a smile and occasional wink, taking care not to overwhelm you with typical doggie enthusiasm. As he gets to know you, he reveals himself to be an engaging, scholarly, witty dog of character, taking obvious delight in your company and conversation. Buka has a sparkling clean Bill of Health from our doctor. He is trustworthy in the house, and takes particular joy in car rides. He is extremely bright and laid back, and he always seems to know just the proper thing to do. He stays in the dining room when we are gone, and loves to sleep in the open crate that we have set up in there. Buka is a great dog and we don't think you could go wrong with him.

Zander

Zander is an 8 month old tan chihuahua who loves people and other dogs. He is fine with cats who ignore hime or stand up to him and teenagers, as he is a bit of a teen himself and into testing limits. He loves to give kisses and is very affectionate. He was won in a raffle at 7 weeks old, but had too much energy for the elderly dog in his first home. Zander is full of puppy enthusiasm. He is not housebroken and know no commands. He is a typical Chi in that he is protective of the lap he is on, but it is all talk. Zander needs structure so that he can learn some limits. Zander needs a home where there is a young canine companion close to play with him and someone who can provide the time necessary to house break this guy, is committed to taking him to obedience training to make him into a good canine citizen, and is home a lot of the time.

Zander has been adopted!

Jerry

Jerry is a 1 year old Portuguese Podengo, a "sight hound" - maybe not purebred but beautiful (under 30 lb). He is a really nice dog - shy when he first meets you but, after a minute, he is in your lap giving you kisses. Jerry is people-focused and dog-focused. He LOVES playing with toys and frisbees and he is quite the athlete! He would make a great flyball, agility or frisbee competitor, or be a fun dog to try Tracking! He rides in the car like an angel, and is learning his manners in his foster home. Jerry would love to have an active family, as he has a lot of energy.

Jerry has been adopted!

Betsy

Betsy is a sweet girl who loves to hang out with her foster family dogs and humans. She is enthusiastic about meeting new people, new dogs and in true Basset form, new smells. After a leisurely stroll in the woods, she enjoys lying in a shady spot is the yard or on one of the many dog beds in the house. At first when her foster mother leaves the room, Betsy seems distraught and whines softly. However, she quickly recovers and finds a spot where she rests and awaits her return. Whatever Betsy’s experience was before she was found as a stray, she appears to have been cared for. She is slightly overweight, but daily walks have resulted in the steady shedding of pounds. Her weight seems to be the result of the wrong type of food rather than too much of it, because she isn’t a food motivated dog. She is house trained, good with children and has adapted very well to being walked on leash. Betsy deserves a loving family who will appreciate the devotion and companionship she is eager to offer.

Coco

Coco is a real love! She is a petite (20 lb) cocker spaniel or a Cavalier King Charles mix., about 5 years old. She was found as a stray by a woman who does cat rescue! Because she was not claimed during her time at the pound, the cat rescue woman made sure that Coco came to dog rescue. Coco is housetrained, crate trained, and settles herself calmly whereever she is. She charmed the vet techs who cared for her when she was spayed, shaved (they took off 4 pounds of matted coat!) and had her teeth cleaned. We thought she was overweight until that matted coat came off, now she is a beautiful little spaniel who does well with other dogs and seems to like everyone.

Coco has been adopted!

Wizard

Wizard is a gentle neutered male Lhasa Apso who is five years old. Lhasa Apsos are known as happy, hardy dogs, who are very adaptable and long lived. His owner recently died and Wizard wound up without a home. His owner never took care of Wizard's medical needs and through this neglect, Wizard became blind. Wizard also had a chronic and painful ear problem that was never addressed. Wizard was going to be put to sleep because the folks who took him in after his owner died could not afford his surgery and didn't want him to suffer. All Dog Rescue stepped in after pleas from several people to save this very special small dog. He tries hard to live a "normal" life and will walk around inside and outside the house even if it's all new to him. He feels his way around by bumping into things. He seeks human comfort and will sit in a lap or next to a person without being pushy--he just likes the closeness. He is not demanding and he is grateful for human help and companionship. Wizard has been adopted!

Daisy is a 3 or 4 year old small white mini schnauzer/poodle mix (about 14 pounds). She is a constant companion. Daisy rides well in a car. She is crate trained and quiet in the house, even when left alone. Her coat is clippered short because she prefers not to be brushed, but her previous owner said she will let you clip her nails. She has natural ears and a docked tail. Daisy was surrendered because of divorce, moving and finances. She was raised with children. She is housetrained and used to walking on a leash. Daisy was adopted on 6/16/05!

Molly
Molly (Molly, Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier), Shiba Inu Mix, 15 Months Old) is just about the cutest and smartest dog you will ever meet. At 15 months she is 25 lbs of muscle and still has that puppy exuberance that is fun and energizing to be around. When she isn’t playing fetch she is trying to cuddle up with her foster mom. Molly is crate trained, housebroken and working on basic commands such as sit and down. Molly needs an experienced owner who will be dedicated to being alpha, training her and helping her with her manners. A fenced in yard for exercise is essential. Molly also needs to be in a home with no small children and no cats or other small animals. Molly has been adopted!
Rayna

Despite Rayna's rough road to where she is today, this little girl is full of love and puppy energy. Rayna lost her first family when her owner was arrested and imprisoned. Taken to the local shelter, she quickly became a staff favorite and was identified as a very adoptable dog for some lucky family. But, before she could take the next step in her journey to a forever home, Rayna was bitten by a poisonous spider. The shelter staff went to great lengths to save Rayna who almost didn't make it. Rayna wiggles with excitement when her human friends return home. She is happy to curl up next to another dog or a person when playtime is over. She is house trained and walks well on a leash. One of the most surprising things about Rayna is, unlike others of her breed, she plays fetch with a tennis ball! Rayna was adopted on 5/28/05!

Misty2

Misty is a 2 year old dog whose owner went back to work full time, and Misty was not getting enough exercise and attention. She loves to be outside. and is very affectionate and doesn't like to be left alone. She has no history of aggressive behavior. She can be shy with strangers and unfamiliar places, but after she gets used to them she is fine. She gets along with other dogs and also cats. She took an obedience class, but could use some more training because she sometimes jumps up on people. Misty might be too much for children under 5, but children over 5 would be fine. Misty has been adopted!

Lexie

Lexie is a lovely, silky, 2 1/2-year-old, mostly black spaniel type dog. She was adopted about two years ago by people who really overfed her. So she needs to lose weight. Despite this, she's frisky and likes to play. She has a very calm personality, loves attention, and also knows some obedience commands. She gets along with cats. This sweet girl deserves people who will love her and take care of her weight with sensible food and exercise. Lexie has been adopted!

RRufus

Rufus is a three year old, twelve pound male Rat Terrier who is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. He was found laying next to his dead elderly owner and appeared to have been without food or water for several days. When he is being held, he will look up at you with those big brown eyes that make you want to melt. He is very much a lap dog and really doesn't seem interested in playing outside. It could be because of his recent trauma or that he was recently fixed and just doesn't feel that well. He would need a quiet home with a special owner(s) who understands loss and would give him the compassion he so deserves. Rufus has been adopted!
Tabitha
Tabitha is a 2-4 year old beautiful mixed breed. She was found as an underweight stray and, since she loves to eat, will soon fatten up. She easily passed our evaluation and calmly rode home in the back seat. She loves people and loves to play with other dogs. She is crate trained and soundly sleeps through the night. Tabitha has been adopted!

Shadow

Shadow is a nice, friendly, well-behaved 4 year old, healthy, great-looking German Shepherd! She weighs about 75lb and is in good shape, not overweight. She is well trained in basic obedience (sit/down/stay), and was raised with a cat. Recently her owner went back to work and Shadow was spending all day in the kitchen. Shadow is dominant with other dogs. She gets along fine with dogs that don't challenge her. The family reported that she is a quiet dog, almost the only time she barks is when they howl to get her to "sing" along. She was surrendered because her family is breaking up. Shadow has been adopted!

Emma

Emma is quiet 8 year old female who was adopted from a local dog pound last year. Her owner is now hospitalized with asthma, and the doctors say she is allergic to Emma. The family was broken-hearted, but they had to give her up. Emma is sweet, mellow and smart. She loves toys and tennis balls. She enjoys car rides and is good on the leash. Emma has been adopted!
Bailey

Bailey is a big wonderful mellow yellow lab boy. Because of changed circumstances, Bailey’s very responsible and loving owner had to give him up. He had him since he was a small puppy and came to us to find a home for him where the people will have more time. He is about 4 years old and grew up with a toddler. He's great with children and is so happy to meet everyone he sees. He'll make a great addition to a home with children to play his favorite game of catch and fetch. Bailey has been licking a raw spot on his front leg. We hope this will clear up in a new environment with less time alone, more exercise, and lots of play with his new family. Bailey was adopted on 2/11/05!

Dora

Dora. This 6 month old sweetheart came to us from a central MA ACO who rescued her from a neglectful situation. We do know that her mother is a purebred Dalmation. Dora passed our temperament evaluation with flying colors. She is only about 25 lbs and shy when she first meets you but warms up quickly. She loves to play with others dogs and is great with cats. She loves to run and play. Her foster parents decided to name her Dora because she's so aDORAble. Dora was adopted on 2/13/05!

Dexter
Dexter. Nine month old Cairn Terrier. Sweet little dog, typical terrier, only growling is when he hears noise outside, housetrained, been to doggie kindergarten, UTD on shots. Crate-trained, 11 pounds. Dexter has been adopted!

Marley

Marley is a neutered male Schnauzer approximately 4-5 years old. He is fully housebroken and not destructive if left alone. We originally adopted him out last summer after he was found as a stray. He was reluctantly returned to rescue because he was too dominant with the children in the house. Marley is wonderful with adults and other dogs. He is a sweet, friendly, active dog. He loves to play fetch. He knows several commands and even obeys them!. He is very people oriented and will follow you around the house just to be close. He does well in a crate (no crying even when he hears you up and about). He will be a perfect dog for an adult household looking for a devoted companion. Marley was adopted on 2/5/05!
Milly

Milly was a stray who was definitely someones beloved pet. She was so scared at the shelter but within 5 minutes she was in our evaluator's lap giving kisses. She was seen by our vet who estimated her to be 6 to 18 months. She's UTD and has been spayed. Except for the porcupine quills and being underweight, she's simply perfect. She weighs a delicate 17 pounds but needs to gain a bit of weight. She rides great in the car, just curls up like a little lady and as I write this description, she's snuggled in my lap. According to the shelter, she's fine with cats and other dogs. She knows sit, come, is housebroken and walks just fine on her tiny leash. She will bring joy, devotion and love into her "forever" owners lives. Milly was adopted on 1/30/05!

Jazz2

Jazz is a small Golden Ret. mix, possibly with Collie weighing 55 pounds. She is a young 8 year old gentle beauty queen. Her owner sadly had to move into an apartment where she was unable to keep her. Jazz has most recently been staying in a home with a cat and is now being fostered with several dogs. She also had experience with young grandchildren in her owner's home. Jazz is spayed and UTD. She recently had a full work up and received a clean bill of health. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will adore you, this is the girl for you! Jazz was adopted within 24 hours of being with us, on 1/30/05!

Chloe
Chloe. This little love bump was found on the streets of Springfield, MA. and impounded in a local shelter where she was in danger of being put down because no one claimed her. Her ADR foster mom and dad were amazed at how sweet and loving she is in spite of the fact that she has had a tough start in life. Someone must have thought she would look aggressive if they cut her ears, but she is too cute and too sweet for the ear cropping to have the desired affect. Chloe wiggles with excitement when it is time to go for a walk in the woods. She is so affectionate, it is hard for her to control her urge to jump up and kiss her human admirers. This little girl will make her new adopted family a loyal and loving companion. Chloe was adopted on 1/29/05!
 Nicki

Nicki was just about 1 year old and an owner surrender. He's extremely affectionate and especially loves his tummy rubbed. He loves his toys and playing with the humans in the household and grooming the other canine in the house. He even tried to groom the cat at the vet. He is crate trained but he will bark when left alone so this will need work. He knows sit, stay and comes when called when inside the house. Nicki has gone to his new home where he will have lots of people, kids and other dogs to play with. Nicki was adopted on January 21st 2005!
