Read how Winston became a hero after he was adopted! Winston has been adopted! Winston has great personality and will be an adorable companion for you. He is expressive and responsive, and everyone who meets him is genuinely taken with his loving nature. He's hung out with both people and dogs and adapts well. Someone left him on the street in Cambridge. As you can imagine he was a little hesitant to relax when we first placed him in his loving foster home but got more and more used to the idea of being given consistent love and leadership in a stable home. As part of our routine service, he has been checked out by the vet and by a behaviorist. Both give him a big thumbs up. All he needs is stability and consistency, A stable home, consistent love, and consistent leadership. He is housebroken, crate trained, non destructive, quiet when left alone and very smart. Winston went to his forever home in NH on December 16th! |

 Tiny, Female Chihuahua 2-4 years old |
Tiny is adopted! True to her name, is a 7 pound very sweet Chihuahua who is timid. She lived alone with an elderly woman and never went out. Her owner died two weeks ago, and she was turned into a shelter. Because she was so frightened, the shelter called us so that Tiny could be in a foster home. She is paper trained and crate trained. She loves being held and her foster mother writes "She is quick to jump into my arms and lets me pet her even in her crate." Tiny is learning to walk on a leash and get used to the world. She was well taken care of, and comes with full vet records. Tiny has found a wonderful new home! Tiny was adopted on 11/26/06. |

Charlie, Male Chihuahua/Pug Mix 5-6 years old

Charlie has been adopted! Back in the days when you needed a nickel to exit the MBTA, there was a song about Charlie who just rode the subway round and round because he lacked the nickel to exit. This fine canine is named Charlie because someone left him in a subway car. As he rode the Red Line, a dog lover noticed that he was abandoned and contacted the kind animal control officers. No one called for him. Charlie is a fifteen pound cuddly dog who likes nothing more than to sneak onto your lap for a snuggle. He is housebroken, up to date on shots, recently neutered, and has been given a microchip so he will not get lost again. The vet estimated that he was 4 or 5. He is shy with new people, but warms up quickly. He bonds quickly. He responds to verbal corrections. He rides well in a car, loves to go on walks, is great on a leash and is relatively calm and low energy. He has gotten along with every dog he has met so far, but does not seek out other dogs. We think he would be fine as an only dog. We have not seen him with kids. He does like to sneak out the front door. Charlie went to his forever home on 10/23/06! | ||

Zoomie has been adopted! Zoomie is a six month old Miniature Smooth Haired Doxie bundle of energy. This dog is a gem! She is gentle, affectionate and bonded quickly with her foster mom. Zoomie wants to play, play, play and will fetch her favorite squeek toy as long as you want to throw it for her. She is very good with other dogs but is scared of the bigger ones initially. She would be fine with kids so long as they are respectful of her small size. We don't know how she would be with cats. Zoomie walks well on a leash and loves the outdoors. She loves to play in the yard and will run, hop and leap over all obstacles to find her toy. When she's worn herself out she seeks a warm lap to curl up on and sleep. Zoomie just wants to be loved and gives kissed to everyone. She loves all humans. Because Zoomie is just a puppy she needs someone who has a flexible schedule or can bring her to work so that she is not left alone for more than 4-5 hours a day. Zoomie went to her forever home on 10/18/06! |

Benny, Male Shih Tzu, 6 1/5 years old |
Benny has been adopted! We had to come up with a name for this wonderful dog so we decided to go with Benny, aka Gentle Ben. Benny is a 6 1/2 year old shih tzu who would be very happy spending the rest of his life on your lap. He was a stray who had been microchipped but the owner couldn't be traced. This is a very low key dog. He wasn't interested in the delectable food we put in his bowl, but when I put it in my hand, he took it very gently. Benny was adopted on 9/26/06!

Bugsy has been adopted! Bugsy Is a 1-2 year old wiggleworm who is masquerading as a Boston Terrier. He absolutely loves people and loves to sit in your lap. He is very food oriented but also very trainable. When he was asked to sit and stay for a treat, he stopped wiggling, and did it twice perfectly. Bugsy easily passed his temperament evaluation. When he gets excited, he does pee a little on the floor. This can be trained and controlled. He was found as a stray. Bugsy was adopted on 9/24/06! |

Joey, Male Wire Haired Jack Russell Terrier Mix, 5 years old

Joey has been adopted! This little guy lost his home when his owner had to go to a retirement home that would not allow pets. His name is Joey and he is a 5 years old, 15 pound, Wire Haired Jack Russell Terrier. He has been around kids recently as he has been going home with vet techs from the office where he was turned in by his owner. He seems to like people of all ages but is a bit stand-offish with other dogs. Joey is neutered and all his blood work has come back great. He likes to be held and walks very well on the leash. Joey has no experience with cats. Joey has been adopted! |

Scarlett, Female, Labrador Retriever Mix, 4+ years

Scarlett has been adopted! Scarlett is a very gentle, sweet, loving gem of a dog. She was found as a stray and the shelter people readily fell in love with her and called us. Scarlett easily passed our temperament evaluation and just wants to be loved. Sadly, this lady doesn't appear to have been given any exercise in her past life and as a result of that and her lab nature, has gained a few extra pounds. Scarlett is working hard to get back to her former O'Hara beauty. If you want a very sweet-natured, mush of dog, Scarlett will be your best pal. Scarlett has gone to her forever home. |

Ruby has been adopted! This sweet little silky-soft, rusty-colored spaniel mix was found as a stray. She's very smart and so lovable! She's already learned to come to your side and sit to be petted, rather than climbing up on the chair. She loves to be with people, and will bask in petting and brushing. This dog has been adopted. Lizzy is a 1-3 year old adorable long haired Chihuahua mix. This little 10 lb dog melted our hearts during her temperament evaluation, which she easily passed. Someone dumped her outside a Petco store and she was taken in by the wonderful Shrewsbury ACO who made sure she was vetted and spayed. She is crate trained and is working hard on her house training. Lizzy loves to be near you and her dream is to have a lap she can call her own. Lizzy has gone to her forever home. She was adopted on 6/30/06! |

Isabella has been adopted! Izzy is a 6 month - 1 year old, active, adorable, gentle, sweet Miniature Long-haired Dachshund. She is an 8 lb bundle of energy and love. Her tail is constantly wagging when she sees people and she wants to play, play, play. Her favorite game so far is fetch. She knows beg and is learning sit and come. Izzy does need some reinforcement on house training. Isabella is curious about everything and fast as lightning so she will need to be on a leash or in a fenced-in area and trained to come when called. She has bonded very quickly to her foster mom so will bond quickly again in her new home. Since she has so much energy and love to give, Izzy would prefer someone who is home most of the time who can play with her and take her on walks. Isabella was found as a stray. This is a fantastic dog! Isabella has gone to her forever home with 4 other dogs to play with and a half acre of fenced-in yard. She was adopted on 5/27/06! |

Bonita has been adopted! Bonita is a 4 yr old sweetheart. She is under 10 lbs and loves everybody and everything. She is playful, confident and loves playing fetch and going for walks. She does need some reinforcement on housetraining as her previous owner used puppy pads in the cold weather. Bonita was adopted on 3/31/06!

Kiana , Shepherd/Lab Mix, 6 years old |
Kiana has been adopted! The intelligence and devotion of a shepherd and the loving nature of a lab. That's Kiana. Sadly, she was relinquished by a grandmother who needed more time to care for her two toddler grandchildren, one of whom is handicapped and recently had a serious surgical procedure that requires 100% of her grandmother's attention. Kiana deserves more than her owner could give, both in terms of time and money so she made the difficult choice to surrender her to All Dog Rescue. Kiana was born 9/18/99 and was originally adopted as a puppy out of a cardboard box from the parking lot of Spags in Worcester. She lived with a cat, is fine with other dogs, is housebroken, does not mind being crated, but mostly just wants to be right next to her person, preferably leaning into you and enjoying the comfort of a hug. She was very bonded to her owner, following her everywhere. She knows several commands, sit, down and will even let you put a treat on her nose and leave it there until you tell her it's OK to have it (see picture). Kiana has been adopted!

Cha Cha , Female Poodle/Silky Terrier Mix, 2-3 years old |
Cha Cha has been adopted! Cha Cha is a 2-3 year old mix of a silky terrier mom, Bonita, and a poddle/terrier dad, Chico. She still lives with her parents and would like to stay with them but understands that this may not be possible. She is under 10 lbs and a real sweetheart. She thinks that there is nothing better than laying on her back getting her tummy rubbed. She may need a refresher course in housetraining as she was not allowed out in the winter. Ernie has been adopted! Ernie is a 3-4 year old basset mix. He has the short legs and body of a basset but the beautiful head of some other breed(s). He was found as a stray near Lynn. When we evaluated him, he stole our hearts. He loves people and other dogs. He loves running and jumping to fetch a thrown toy. He just loves life. Ernie has been adopted! |

Puppet has been adopted! Puppet is a gem who was saved from death at the last minute. He was found as a stray and when his 10 days at the shelter were up, the vet who was told to put the dog to sleep refused to do it, saying that Puppet was too nice to meet that fate. He is handsome, cuddly, and an all around happy guy. The vet estimated that Puppet is 8-10 years old. Unfortunately, he has suffered some neglect in his past, and had untreated eye infections which left him with limited sight, if any. Despite the neglect, he has a very cheerful and trusting disposition. He seems to like everyone - people, cats and especially other dogs. He may not be a pure bred shih tzu (he's 24 pounds for one thing!) but he has the characteristics of the breed. He is fine going up stairs. He is hestiant going down new stairs, but once they are familiar, he is fine. He loves his walks and does well on a lead. Zachary has been adopted! Zachary was surrendered by his elderly owners to a local dog pound because they could not walk him anymore. He loves his leash walks (around the block may be enough), and his owners said he loves dogs, cats, and people. That’s very evident: This dog doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and loves lap-time, belly rubs, and gentle play with other dogs. He's a gentleman about grooming and a trooper about vetting. Zachary is well socialized and thoroughly house-trained—NO accidents. He's not at all destructive in the house. He is about 11.5 years old and healthy. His hearing and eyesight aren't quite what they used to be, but he's a calm, friendly fellow who will make a wonderful companion. Zachary has been adopted! |

Fiona has been adopted! Fiona, Fiona Bologna. This is one exceptional young lass. She appears to be a purebred English Pointer who has spent most of her [guessing] three years as an outside dog. She is terribly shy, but will envelope you in her enormous black and brown loving eyes if you make friends. She is housebroken, crate trained, non-destructive, and surprisingly good on leash-- although she may never be an off-the-leash kind of gal. True to her breed, off-leash she will follow her nose to far away places. A local Animal Control person picked her up doing just that. And that's how she ended up with All Dog Rescue. A fenced-in yard is a must. She is rather petite, but has the startling bark of a dog twice her size, so we add "Good Watchdog" (of the non-aggressive sort) to her resume. She is sweetness doggified, and she even seems oblivious to cats! Couch Potato Disclaimer: Fiona is definitely an on-the-couch kind of gal-- but the better to snuggle with, I'm sure you'd agree!
