ALL OF THE DOGS ON THIS PAGE HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS PLEASE CLICK HERE!
Copper, Female Pit Bull Terrier Mix, 10 months old
Copper. This beautiful girl was found as a stray and is eager for a home of her own. Copper is a petite ten month old who weighs 40 pounds. She is energetic and loves to go for long walks and play with both people and dogs, but is also very affectionate. Sometimes she just wants to cuddle will lie in your lap to have her belly rubbed. She will give big wet kisses to everyone, including other dogs. She would be fine as an only dog or as a companion to another dog who wouldn't mind her playfulness. Copper is eager to learn and is quickly picking up basic commands; she would really thrive with some consistent obedience training. Copper gets along well with both dogs and cats in her foster home. She would do best in a home with older or no children because she gets excited easily. She is both house-trained and crate-trained. Copper is currently fostered in Worcester.
Copper was adopted on December 22nd!
Miss Snickers, Pit Bull Terrier Mix, Female, young.
Miss Snickers now known as Jayda has been adopted! She is a loving and lovely young dog who sometimes pretends to be a lap dog. Her main desire is to be with people. She is very intelligent and learns quickly. She completed doggy school with highest honors: she knows how to come, sit, leave it, drop it, lie down and more. Snickers is still quite puppyish at times and playful but already respectful of others' boundaries. She walks nicely on a leash, plays well with other dogs and is simply the most loving, wonderful dog you'll ever meet. In general, ADR places bulldog type dogs only with dogs of the opposite sex. She is friendly with ALL of the dogs she has met. She is also great with kids, from what we have seen.
Miss Snickers was adopted on December 9th!
Tati, Female Akita, 10 years old.
Tati, a ten year old Akita, is a sweet old dog who loves people. The more she knows you, the more loyal and affectionate she becomes. She was rescued from the Lynn shelter after she was found collapsed on the street. She has arthritis and nerve damage in her rear but will trot around a bit when she wants to play. She loves to lay outside and take leisurely short strolls. Tati is looking for a companion to spend the last years of her life. She would do well in a home with a relaxed lifestyle, preferably no children.
Tati was adopted on November 20th!
Bambi, Dachshund Mix, 1 year old.
Bambi is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. She is a huge cuddlebug just waiting to lean against you as you sleep. This youngster (about 1 year) is a true mixed breed - soft brindle coat, one blue eye, helicopter ears, long body, and a tail wag to die for. She weighs in at 13 pounds. She loves all people, dogs and cats. Shockingly, she was run over by a car and left by the side of the road to die. She suffered a crushed pelvis, but a good samaritan brought her to the dog pound. She came to All Dog Rescue to recuperate and she is doing very well. She has a little difficulty with her back legs and will need to develop additional scar tissue before she can use them quite normally. For now she needs to be carried up stairs (she's fine going down) unless it's just one or two stairs. Her walks should be short and slow now, but she should be able to hike and run in the future. She is sweet and happy and so eager to have a family. She is a terrific dog and charms everyone she meets with her wagging tail.
Bambi was adopted on November 19th! with her wagging tail.
Kealy, Female Poodle Mix, 1 year old.
Meet Kealy. An 11 pound female poodle, Shih Tzu or maybe Terrier mix who was relinquished along with her sister to the local humane society. Kealy is a little over a year old. Kealy is in foster care with an 8 year old boy and a 10 year old 70 pound dog. She likes children and will bond very quickly with a new ower given how attached she is to her foster mom already! She's a tad shy initially but does not discriminate between men, women and children, mostly she just wants a lap to cuddle in. We had her groomed moments after she was pulled from the shelter and the groomer said she was great. By the time she was done being primped, two people wanted to adopt her. We will spay her at the end of July once she's completed her heat cycle. She's housebroken, knows stay, sit and come.
Kealy has been adopted!
Ava, Female Boxer Mix, 6 months old.
Ava is a 6 month old Boxer X who weighs 32lbs. She’s a bit underweight and has some fattening up to do, shouldn’t be hard since she has a healthy appetite. She has lots of energy and loves to play, but settles down nicely in the evenings. She gets along great with her foster-brother, a retriever mix and is very submissive to him. She is outgoing and friendly with people but definately knows who her pack is. She is eager to please, she knows sit and is working on 'leave it' and 'wait;' she walks well on a leash and comes when she is called. She is happy to go into her crate and bless her, she sleeps through the night . Ava was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. When her time was up she was brought to a foster home as she is far to sweet to let go. Ava would do best as a single dog or in a household with a male dog.
Ava has been adopted!
Magic, Male Pit Mix, young.
Magic. A happy-go-lucky toddler of a dog, Magic loves his second chance at life and embraces every opportunity he is given. He can’t wait for his daily training sessions and has learned to heel on a leash walk, to sit, and to wait until released to eat at each meal. He responds immediately when off leash and called to come. His foster family appreciates that he sleeps quietly through the night and waits patiently to go out for the morning walk. He loves playing and is good with small as well as large dogs. Magic has boundless energy and is the perfect companion for someone or a family that is active and enjoys the outdoors. He was found as a skinny, dull-coated stray and kept in a holding facility until his days were up. By then he was a staff favorite and he was referred into our foster program where he has flourished. He is very handsome and athletic having gained just the right amount of weight and a beautiful glossy coat. All that is missing for Magic is his own forever, loving family and bestowing on them the huge love and loyalty he is eager to offer.
Magic has been adopted!
Barney, Male Australian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog Mix, adult.
Barney is a gentle giant who was found as a stray and languished in the dog pound. Enchanted kennel workers refused to put him to sleep after he was not claimed by his people. Loyal and affectionate, this Australian Shepherd/ Bernese Mountain Dog mix loves to be petted, get belly rubs, play with tennis balls, chew on raw hides and go for walks. He's very friendly towards people and other dogs. He's very well-mannered and polite. He doesn't jump up and hardly ever barks. He comes over and rubs his head against you when he wants some love. He would be fine in a condo or apartment.
Barney has been adopted!
Hannah, Female Poodle, Shih Tzu, 6 months old.
Hannah. Is she the cutest puppy you've ever seen? Hanna was recently rescued from a neglect situation but she has gone from "terrified" to "joyous" in just a few days (with lots of TLC, of course). This 6 month old pup has been thrilled to discover how fun it can be to walk on grass, play with dogs in her foster home, get cuddled by her foster parents, and jump on a squeaky toy. When we got her last week she was so severely covered in mats that she could only walk with difficulty. Now she's dancing around the house and garden and is alive with happiness. Since she is a puppy she will need a home where someone can be there most of the time. She was not house-trained so she's learning, but may need some help to complete the training.
Hannah was adopted on August 1st, 2008!
Dylan, Male Chihuahua Mix, 7-8 years old.
Dylan is a precious little 10 pound Chihuahua cross who will make someone very happy. He is a quiet, loving, low-maintenance sweetheart. He likes laps, belly rubs, and sleeping under the covers. Unlike some Chihuahuas, he is not at all pushy or yappy. He does not demand attention, and in fact he is a very subtle personality and defers to all the other dogs in his foster home. He is easy and docile and would be perfect for someone who wants a low-key dog. He walks well on a leash and passes other dogs without issue, but he likes to sniff on his walks and is not in a hurry. Best guess for age is about 7 or 8 years old and he has no known medical problems. We had him neutered and brought up to date on shots. He ignores the cat in his foster home, but has not been observed with children. He is house-trained.
Dylan was adopted on June 1st!
Ricky, Male Chihuahua, 2 years old.
Ricky is a friendly lovable little dog. He is young and healthy although a little overweight (from poor nutrition). He is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. He loves to go for walks and hang out and to be petted. He is good with dogs and cats. He is quiet at home. He either hangs out in his crate or comes over for love. He is an easy dog and will be a loving grateful companion in his new home. He is house broken and crate trained, and he doesn't pull on the leash. Ricky was fostered in Arlington. Ricky has been adopted!
Ricky has gone to his forever home!o
HHarry, Male Shih-Tzu, 3-5 years old.
Harry has been adopted! Harry is a cute fun 3-5 year old male with a 'tuxedo' coat. He was found on the streets of Somerville to fend for himself. He is good with other dogs and with cats. He has a very happy personality and will make you laugh. Harry is a fun lively guy who loves to go for walks and hanging out in the yard. He is crate trained and has done well with asking to go outside to do his business. Harry has a clean bill of health. We love Harry and so does our vet - he even let her take a blood sample without struggling one bit.
Harry has gone to his forever home!o
Mop, Male Pekingese, 10 months old.
[No picture available.]]
Mop has been adopted! Mop is a very friendly and affectionate Peke pup with a face splitting smile and a happy disposition. He was found wandering the streets on his own. His coat was one heavy armor of matted fur. The vet thinks he is about ten months old. Mop has been professionally groomed and shaved - that feels good! He gets along with all dogs he has met, large and small, male and female. He has a clean bill of health and is scheduled to be neutered on Tuesday, June 3. Mop is in pole position for the next open foster home and currently still residing at the town pound. His coat color is a beautiful white and tan.
Mop has gone to his forever home!o
Happy has been adoted! Happy is a sweet, lovable 6 year old Black Lab mix. He is great with other dogs and has been raised with a child, so a family with children would make Happy very, well, happy. He is a little shy at first but he warms up quickly. He is house trained and shows you when he needs to go outside to go to the bathroom. He walks well on a leash and likes to sniff as all dogs do, but does not sniff every bush and tree that he sees. He is also a cuddler so if you allow him to sleep on your bed, he will cuddle against your legs affectionately. He is an incredible dog who would make a great addition to any household. --- CATS: Happy chases cats which move quickly. However, he met my friend's cat who was comfortably seated on the sofa, and he completely ignored the cat, so he MIGHT adjust to life with a cat. --- This is what our trainer says about Happy: Happy is a rare find. He is a terrific family dog, very easy dog to live with. He is happy like a lab without being rambunctious or overbearing, he is aware of his surroundings and his body like a hound without having his nose on the ground. Once bonded and with a reliable recall, he could also be your off leash hiking partner. No invisible fence for him, please - he likes his world to be like him, very gentle and predictable, without sudden, scary jolts. Fostered in Cambridge, MA.
Happy has gone to his forever home!ow
Nina, Female Chihuahua, 3-4 years old.
Nina has been adopted! Nina is a pretty white Chihuahua cross who was found as a stray. Nina does not seem to have any medical problems, or any problems at all, other than occasionally demanding some attention. In her former life she may have been able to get attention only by barking, or scavenging for food (she is still underweight at about 10 pounds but is being well-fed in her foster home). She is a survivor who seems resourceful and energetic. She walks well on leash, does well in cars and crates and appears fully house-trained. She generally likes other dogs although she has acted both dominant and submissive in various encounters. She ignored the cat in her foster home, but has not been observed with children. She adores human touch and will close her eyes with pleasure when being softly petted and held. She deserves a loving home where she can feel wanted. Best guess for her age is about 3 or 4 years.
Nina went to her forever home in May!o
Odee, Male, German Shepherd/Hound, 2 Years old.
Odee has been adopted! Look at this face and tell me you don't want to scoop me up and snuggle me forever? I am only two years old and am part Shepherd, part hound, and 100% love muffin. I've got a heart the size of Texas in this petite, 40-pound frame. I've been told that I look pensive and indeed I am. Come on, how many dogs do you know that can raise their eyebrows? Speaking of eyebrow raising, you'll be sure to raise yours when you see what a smart boy I am. I pick up on training faster than I pick up on the scent of a steak. I know where to do my business, I am great in the car, am crate trained, and I can do advanced quantum physics equations...OK, maybe I made that last part up, but I bet I could if I had any thumbs to hold a pencil! I have, however, showed impressive agility abilities. My foster mom is a competitive agility trainer and she tested me. I blew her away with my potential. She believes that, with proper training, I could be a star. I am playful and social.
Odee went to his forever home!ow? I promise to charm my way into your heart and remain there forever.
Homer, Male Beagle/Basset Mix, 6 months old
Homer has been adopted! Homer is a six month old Basset/Beagle mix. He is fine with cats and loves to play with other dogs. He will be good in a home with older children, but not toddlers because he is a very mouthy puppy. He is as sweet and as cute as can be. His joyful antics include playing ball by himself. He rolls a tennis balls down a hill in his foster family's back yard, chases it, brings it back up the hill and then does it all over again...and again. The foster family dog watches Homer with bewilderment and tries to distract him with invitations to play chase and wrestle. As much as Homer loves to engage in doggie games, he finds the tennis ball a compelling alternative. He sleeps overnight in a crate and is quiet until the household arises in the morning. He is house trained but if you miss the signal, his puppy bladder may let go. He comes running when called, knows "sit", but needs to work on counter surfing and jumping on humans for attention. Ideally, he would have a fenced yard because his hound nose could easily lead him astray in spite of his desire to be with his human companions. He should be walked on a leash for the same reason. He thrives on daily exercise and exploration.
Homer went to his forever home on March 25th!
Achilles, Male Boston Terrier, 11 months old
Achilles has been adopted! Achilles is a 22 pound, 11 month old Boston Terrier originally purchased at 10 weeks for $1400. Achilles was given up by his owner who realized that 8+ hours in the crate was no life for this special dog. Achilles, because of his desire to play, was also no match for the resident older dog. He passed our temp test with flying colors. He’s mostly house-trained. He settles nicely in his crate at night and during the day while he's at his Foster Mom's office he enjoys quiet time, crated. He sleeps through the night without a peep in his crate. He knows sit. He is not leash trained and while he's only 22 pounds, he's a handful on leash. We're working on teaching him down and stay and he appears to be a quick study. He goes out and promptly does his business but is hardy enough to enjoy a two mile daily walk. He also thoroughly enjoys endless ball and retrieve time. We’ve bathed him and he was just perfect. He’s been to the office and behaved like a gentleman. He would love to be a lap dog who is allowed on furniture but that won’t fly in this foster household and he's OK with that rule. Achilles has been exposed to a handful of dogs and he appears to be OK with them. He’s being fostered west of Boston with a 7 year old boy and a 10 year old dog. He’s respectful and enjoys the energy of the dog savvy child, but he’s too playful and pushy for the old shepherd mix in the household.
Achilles went to his forever home on January 29th!
Duchess Chloe, Female Rat Terrier, 2 years old
Duchess has been adopted! Duchess is a 2 year old, friendly, housetrained dog who weighs about 10 pounds. She is confident, active and curious. She loves people, she's quiet riding in the car. Duchess was a stray who won the hearts of the vet techs who cared for her. She came into foster care on Dec. 19. She is housetrained, crate trained, and doesn't bark much. She gets along with other dogs most of the time, but she doesn't want them near her people.
Duchess Chloe went to her forever home on January 18th!
Mitzi, Female Terrier/Lab mix, 7-8 years old
Mitzi has been adopted! Mitzi was a stray who was taken by an Animal Control officer to a local animal hospital to be put to sleep. The staff there thought she was so sweet and called us to see if we could find her a home. She easily passed her temperament evaluation and we found her to be a very smart, loving dog who thrives on attention. The vet guesses her age to be 7-8 yrs and her breed to be terrier/lab mix. Her foster mom says that she loves everyone and is great with other dogs. She is curious about the world and is a star squirrel chaser.
Mitzi went to her forever home on January 8th!
Norie, Female Toy Poodle, 7-8 years old
Norie has been adopted! Norie is a very sweet and friendly non-shedding, Toy Poodle. She was a matted stray who nobody claimed, but she's been groomed since. In her foster home she was friendly, calm, quiet and got along with the resident dogs and cat. She is housebroken, good on a leash, and good in the car. She loves to be touched and loves to snooze in a lap. She is absolutely no trouble at all, and just wants to provide companionship to someone. The vet believes she is 7-8 years old. We do not think she is spayed, but she will be spayed before she goes into a new home. She is 15 pounds and does not shed. .
Norie went to her forever home on January 5th!
