Frankie, Male American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, 15 Weeks Old
Frankie and her 3 sisters were found carousing a street in central mass. The animal control officer located their owner who wisely surrendered them. They were grossly underweight .
We promptly took them to our vet, and we have been treating them for malnutrition. At twelve weeks they are happy, active, robust little creatures who are postively thriving.
Frankie is the most laid back and easy-going of the litter. She is always waiting for a lap to open up. She loves to cuddle and be held and almost instantly falls asleep in your arms. She is a gorgeous red brindle and currently weighs about 14 lbs.
Frankie was adopted on December 25th!
Bolt, Male ShihTzu/Poodle Mix, 5 months old
Bolt and his brother Cooper were surrendered to us by a struggling family that want to ensure that these pups are well cared for and have all the attention they need and deserve.
Their parents are both Shih-poo's, Mum is a wonderful girl with the sweetest most relaxed disposition and Pops is a friendly and lively fellow.
Bolt is smaller than his brother and has stiking black and white markings. Born July 26th he is nearly 5 months old.
Bolt has just enough spunk and independence to make him quite the character. He is very interested in meeting people and making friends. He loves to cuddle and is happiest relaxing in a nice warm lap. He has lived a fairly sheltered life and was at first intimidated by the new doggy faces in his foster home but is coming around nicely. socializing him with lots of dogs and people will be very important in the next few months.
Bolt was adopted on December 22nd!
Cooper, Male ShihTzu/Poodle Mix, 5 months old
Cooper and his brother Bolt were surrendered to us by a struggling family that want to ensure that these pups are well cared for and have all the attention they need and deserve.
Their parents are both Shih-poo's, Mum is a wonderful girl with the sweetest most relaxed disposition and Pops is a friendly and lively fellow.
Cooper has a lovely white coat with a few soft brown markings on his back. Born July 26th he is nearly 5 months old.
Cooper is a calm little man whose tail never ceases to wag. He loves to cuddle and is happiest relaxing in a nice warm lap. He has lived a fairly sheltered life and was at first intimidated by the new doggy faces in his foster home but is coming around nicely. Socializing him with lots of dogs and people will be very important in the next few months.
Cooper was adopted on December 22nd!
Cleo, Female Chinese Crested Powder Puff, 7 years old
Cleo is friendly to all adults, children, dogs and cats, but she is not overbearing. She walks well on a leash, does not get on furniture, eats well, is great in the car, and is a very happy dog. She is enthusiastic, outgoing and eager to please. She would love to be stroked all day, but if you want to go running, she is right there with you. Cleo is about 7 years old and weighs about 15 lbs (her fluffy coat makes her look bigger). She was taken into rescue because her owner lost her job and had to move. The first rescue closed down and Cleo has now found her way to ADR.
The chinese crested breed is known to be long-lived. They can be either hairless or have a full coat of hypo-allergenic hair (powderpuff). As is common grooming practice, Cleo has a shaved muzzle but it can be allowed to grow out. She has a beautiful non-shedding coat. Once you have a chinese crested you will never get another type of dog. They are great fun and have wonderful personalities.
Cleo was adopted on December 14th!
Harley, Female American Staffordshire Terrier, 1.5 years old
Harley was found wandering the streets of central Mass. She weighs 50 pounds and is the most gorgeous coffee and cream color (think dunkin' donuts, extra/extra). We are guessing Harley is about a year old. She is up to date on her shots, she has tested negative for both heartworm and Lyme, she is spayed and microchipped. Harley is very eager to please, she is crate and housetrained. She is very attentive, she comes when she is called, she sits and waits for her food, stays off furniture (though she may try to climb into your lap), and sleeps soundly through the night. Harley is very puppyish and goofy and she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to play. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys outings to the dog park and walks through the woods. Harley seems to understand the big picture and is very considerate of her foster sister, a very ill Shih Tzu, who she monitors closely when out in the yard. Both of Harley's ears point toward the left and make her look like she has a bad comb-over, its pretty endearing.Harley would do best in a home with dog experience or a home interested in taking her to obedience classes. She will make a fantastic pet for anyone who can put some time into training her, she's a quick study and wants to please, so a little effort will go a long way. She can be jumpy when meeting new people (which is something she is working on) and she does bark to alert (though quiets when told).
Harley was adopted on December 12th!
Meet Lilly! She is a cute little 4 year old, 10 lb Chihuahua, black with a white star on her chest, who is a total love bug. She’s fine with the other Chihuahua mix in her foster home and she especially loves people. We aren't sure how she would be with cats. Even though she was found as a stray, she is a well-behaved, happy-go-lucky little dog who has much love and affection to give her family. She will roll on her back for a belly rub at the drop of a hat.
Lilly is housebroken and also crate-trained. She is fine on car rides, she sits in the backseat without a peep. She LOVES to walk on her leash, do tricks for you (she knows how to “sit up pretty” and also “sit” – I’m sure she would be eager to learn more.) She also loves her treats and squeaky toys.
Lilly was adopted on December 7th!
Effie, Female American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, 13 Weeks Old
Effie is the smallest of the litter, she does not like the word runt, but she is quite tiny. She loves to cuddle and be held and is far more focused on being with people than she is with other dogs. She doesnt let her small size slow her down one bit and she loves to play with her foster brother a large retriever mix. (she is fascinated by his big fluffy tail). She is beautiful dark brindle and currently weighs about 7lbs.
We know their mom was a pit bull, but because of their faces... they all have a slight under bite and recessed nose... we think Pops may have been a Boxer or perhaps an American Bulldog.
Effie was adopted on December 7th!
Bear, Male Bichon Frise Mix
Bear is the most lovable little boy. He gets along well with dogs and the resident cat.
Bear was adopted on December 7th!
Dobby, Male Chihuahua, 1-3 Years Old
Dobby was found as a stray in MA. He is a one year old, 7 pound, brown and white chihuahua. He is crate trained, house trained, and happily comes when called.
Dobby loves people and cuddling. He's a funny little guy, always snuggling under the blankets. He also loves to roll on his back and have a belly rub. He likes chewing on little nylabones in his crate and is very playful with his little stuffed animal. He loves to please and is easy-going.
Dobby was adopted on December 3rd!
Davey was struck by a car and miraculaoudly walked away with only a few bruises. After a thorough check up with the vet he was brought to the local animal control facility where he remained unclaimed. Davey is a tiny little fella at roughly 4.5 pounds. He is being fostered with dogs of all sizes and is getting along quite well. He loves attention and would be perfectly content to take up permanent residence on your lap. Davey has been introduced to people of all ages and sizes and has yet to meet anyone he did not love. Davey can be needy and we would like to see him go to a home where he would not be left alone for long stretches of time.
Davey was adopted on November 30th!
Vegas, Female American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, 12 Weeks Old
Vegas and her 3 sisters were found carousing a street in central mass. The animal control officer located their owners who wisely surrendered them. They were grossly underweight . We promptly took them to our vet, and we have been treating them for malnutrition. At 12 weeks they are happy, active, robust little creatures who are postively thriving.
Vegas is the boldest and most active pup of the bunch. She is the first one out of her crate in the morning and the last one in it at night. She loves, loves, loves to play and is more than able to keep up with the big dogs in her foster home . Vegas is the most resilient little pup and is non-stop and extremely athletic for her tender age. She does crash out immediately after a good play session and she loves to be held and cuddled. Vegas has a wonderfully soft black and white coat and the white blaze on her face ends with the perfect little heart. Vegas currently weighs about 12 pounds.
We know thier mom was a pit bull but because of thier faces, they all have a slight under bite and recessed nose we think Pops may have been a Boxer or an American Bulldog.
Vegas was adopted on November 22nd!
Willow, Female American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, 12 Weeks Old
Willow and her 3 sisters were found carousing a street in central mass. The animal control officer located their owners who wisely surrendered them. They were grossly underweight at only 6 weeks old. We promptly took them to our vet, and we have been treating them for malnutrition. At 7.5 weeks they are happy, active, robust little creatures who are postively thriving.
Willow is the proverbial middle child. She is the same lovely dark brindle as her sister Effie and weighs 7 pounds. She can usually be found one step behind her sister Vegas, whether its greeting a new face or racing to the food dish. Willow is chock full of character and she loves to snuggle. She will gladly put her sisters in their place but responds completely appropriately when one of her older foster siblings corrects her.
We know thier mom was a pit bull but because of thier faces, they all have a slight under bite and recessed nose we think Pops may have been a Boxer.
Willow was adopted on November 20th!
Spencer, Male Chihuahua, 1-3 Years Old
Spencer is a handsome young Chihuahua that was found as a stray in central MA. He is a sweet, friendly dog who loves to meet new people. He has no problem going right up to strangers to say hello. He is very energetic, enjoys belly rubs and playing with stuffed toys. When he gets tired he will climb in your lap or right next to you and settle in for a nap. Spencer gets so excited when you come home from work and he immediately runs to get his toys to play with. While friendly, Spencer is still very independent and will take a break from his people when he has had his fill of interaction. He gets nervous at times by quick movements so it is best that he not go to a home with very young kids. He gets along fine with other small dogs but he gets annoyed with them easily if they want to play when he doesn't. Spencer is nervous around larger dogs, even calm dogs that are not bothering him. He would do best as an only dog or with another laid-back, relaxed small dog. He has not once chased the cats in his foster home. Spencer loves to go on walks and could walk forever - he wants to explore and go, go, go. He will need someone willing to continue working with him on his leash manners. He is doing wonderfully with his housetraining since being neutered and if kept on a schedule he is near perfect. Spencer enjoys his crate, goes in on his own or when told and will sleep there buried in his blanket throughout the night without a peep.
Spencer was adopted on November 18th!
Chip, Male Italian Greyhound, 10 Weeks Old
Chip. Chippy is the smallest of the litter, but he reached his milestones first. He was the first to eat solid food and the first to bark. He loves to be cuddled but he also loves dashing through the yard with his siblings. Like his litter mates, Chip loves playing with the 13 pound resident dog in his foster home.
Chip was adopted on November 14th!
Tamale, Female Chihuahua, 10 Weeks Old
Tamale is a beautiful white and grey Chihuahua who was found as a stray in western MA. She weighs about three and a half pounds and is approximately two years old.
With her family, Tamale is an absolute love! She loves to snuggle in your lap and give kisses. She is energetic and playful and really wants to be around people. She is nervous when meeting new people but can quickly be won over if you give her a little time to get comfortable with you.
Tamale would love another small dog to play with. She also does not bother the cats in her foster home. It would be best if Tamale not go to a home with very young children because of her size. Tamale is not yet housebroken but it is something that her foster home is working on. Her adoptive home should be willing to continue working on this with her.
Tamale was adopted on November 14th!
Annie, Female Italien Greyhound, 10 Weeks Old
Annie. Rare chance to adopt well-socialized, healthy, happy puppies from a rescue group! We don't usually have puppies, but one of our foster families took in a pregnant Italian greyhound over the summer and has been fostering mom and her 3 babies (who were born August 29). They are adorable, playful, bold creatures and they will be very rewarding companions! Annie is the largest of the litter and the most adventurous. She's a quick learner and the leader of the pack. She's an inquisitve girl and she will keep you laughing as she investigates her surroundings Annie has beautiful black fur, slightly longer and thicker than her siblings. Like her litter mates, Annie loves playing with the 13 pound resident dog in her foster home.
Annie was adopted on November 14th!
Ruby, Female Chihuahua, 5-7 Years Old
Ruby is a female Chihuahua who is slightly overweight at seven pounds. She was a stray that was found in western Massachusetts and is estimated to be between five and seven years old. She loves people, enjoys cuddling in your lap, and frequently gives kisses. She constantly makes us laugh by rolling around in her bed playing with her stuffed toy. She also loves going outside for walks and is quite a little runner but she doesn't pull on the leash. She will need a home that will exercise her regularly and be strict with her diet to help her get back into shape. Ruby would be fine in a home with children - she loves them! Ruby has definitely been allowed to sleep in a human bed in the past but she also sleeps wonderfully buried in a blanket in a crate. Ruby is an all-around fabulous dog - she's one of her foster mom's all-time favorites! She is housetrained, cratetrained and gets along fine with other dogs and cats (though she does love a game of chase!). Ruby has a mammary tumor that will be removed when she is spayed.
Ruby was adopted on November 13th!
Carly, Female Pit Bull Terrier, 1 Year Old
Carly is an absolutely gorgeous young female pit bull. She has the softest and most beautiful gray/blue fur I have ever seen. Don't let her cropped ears and muscular frame fool you, she is a sweetheart. Carly is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands. She is very quiet and reserved until you offer her a tennis ball. Then she will play until you can't play any more. Carly is spayed, microchipped, and immunized and is ready for adoption.
Carly was adopted on November 11th!
Pete, Male Cocker Spaniel/Golden Retreiver Mix, 4-5 Years Old
Wow - Pete is the easiest foster dog we have ever had! He is housebroken. He likes other dogs. He doesn't get on furniture. He has been friendly to everyone. He does not beg at the table. He likes to carry a tennis ball around. He is fun on walks. He takes treat gently from your hands but is not overly focused on food. He is great in the car (except for an occasional bark). Affectionate, but not clingy. Quiet at night. He is a gem. He has an adorable underbite. He is the size of a cocker spaniel but looks like a golden retriever with a very thick northern coat. It is hard to figure out why someone would abandon him. He waited patiently in the dog pound for 10 days, but no one came to get him. He weighs just under 21 pounds.
Pete was adopted on November 4th!
Roscoe Male Cairn Terrier Mix, 6 Years Old
Roscoe. Would you love a cute and affectionate companion? Roscoe is a very small guy with a big generous personality. He loves dogs, people, and even cats! Even though he was found as a stray he has bounced back from any trauma and is a happy and well-behaved dog in his foster home. He loves car rides, walks, treats, playing ball, and lounging in his bed. He is cuddly but not demanding. He is perfectly housetrained too! Roscoe is a sweet dog and easy to have around --as long as you enjoy a daily game of fetch. He's about 6 years old and weighs a mere 10 pounds. Roscoe will do best in a home without children under the age of 10.
Roscoe was adopted on November 1st!
Beau is a 6 year old 40 lb Black Lab/Chow Chow mix. Beau came to us as an owner surrender and had previously lived with two other dogs. Beau LOVES his humans and enjoys sitting in laps and getting belly rubs. He is also excellent with children of all ages. Beau gets excited and can sometimes show aggression when he spots another dog while walking outside so we've started him on "clicker" training. He has responded very well to this. This training has enabled him to be more responsive to commands while outside and has allowed him to have better interactions when meeting new dogs.
Beau was adopted on October 7th!
Winston,Male Chihuahua, 1 year old
Winston is a one-year old eight pound pure-bred Chihuahua who is absolutely adorable. He is fawn with little white socks and has perfect Chihuahua features.
Winston is an affectionate sweetheart who will give kisses. He loves to lie in your lap and will roll over for belly rubs. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and is great with children. He is generally not a barker.
Winston was trained on pee-pads in his previous home and his foster home is working on transitioning him to outside only.
Winston was adopted on October 3rd!
Riley, Male Cocker Spaniel, 2-4 years old
Riley is a 2-4 yr old, all black, purebred cocker spaniel who was picked up as a stray on the north shore. He is a beautiful little sweetheart (about 20 pounds). He's very friendly and likes to snuggle up to your leg and be patted. He is a cuddle bug, but he is not clingy. He is docile, quiet, and reserved. Riley is very good with other dogs, and likes to hang out and run around with his foster brother, a large male lab. He's also fine with cats and children. He is an easy dog-- easy to keep and easy to love. Riley is eager to find a new home of his own.
Riley was adopted on October 3rd!
Zu Zu, Female Shih Tzu, 5-6 years old
Zu Zu was named after the little girl in "It's a Wonderful Life. She was found as a stray in a neighborhood in western Mass. She is about 5-6 years old and weighs almost 18 pounds. When we met Zu Zu she had been in the shelter a month and was clearly fighting massive skin, eye and ear infections. She was definitely not cut out for life as a stray. The shelter workers were doing their best, giving her regular medicated baths and trying to shave the matts out of her coat but she was in desperate need of medical attention. We immediately pulled Zu Zu and brought her into our rescue to give her a new lease on life. Zu Zu's first stop was the vet. She was diagnosed with skin and ear infections, dry eye, and overall poor nutrition. Her bloodwork showed a very compromised immune system but otherwise was normal. She is a very sweet and loving dog and will waddle right over to say hello and see if she can score some affection. She is very communicative and will bark and grumble to tell you she needs to go out or whatever else she thinks you should know. She can be quite the little princess and is full of personality.
All Dog Rescue enjoys doing what it can to support the lives of all dogs regardless of how hopeless they may seem to others. Please consider donating to our medical fund by clicking the PayPal "Donate" button so that we can continue treating other dogs in need like Zu Zu.
Zu Zu was adopted on October 2nd!
Casey, Male Miniature Poodle, 2 years old
Casey is a pure bred toy poodle who was found as a stray in western MA. We can't believe that her owners never came to claim her as she is just the cutest little dog! She is just under two years old and weighs just under eight pounds. She has gorgeous, soft, black hair that will need consistent grooming. Casey is full of personality; she loves to play, loves to snuggle and loves belly-rubs. She gets very excited when her people come home and when she goes for walks but for the most part she is content just to hang out. Casey gets along fine with kids and other dogs. She is starting to become fresh with the two resident cats in her foster home. She enjoys chasing them but doesn't know what to do when she reaches them. She is housetrained and is a whiz with "sit". Casey gets very stressed when crated and left alone. We would love to find her a home where she is not left alone very often. Casey does have an unregistered microchip and we were able to speak with her breeder who told us that she was born on 10/23/07. Casey possibly has epilepsy and we are currently monitoring the frequency of her seizures. She has only had one that we know of in the week and a half that we have had her. While the vet is guessing that it was an epileptic seizure, we can't be sure. If the seizures are infrequent and not severe she will not need medication. Epilepsy does not get worse over time.
Casey was adopted on October 2nd!
Ava, Female Pit Bull, 2 years old
Ava is a beautiful girl who was recently picked up as a stray. She is about two years old and weighs 60 lbs. She has been living in a home with a larger male dog and a female Chihuahua and does great with them. Ava is house trained, crate trained, and rides well in a car.
As with most pit bulls, Ava loves people. She always wants to be by your side and seems equally content going for a walk or laying at your feet (I'm sure she would love cuddling on the couch too, if you let her). She pulls a little on the leash, but she is easily controlled and is getting better. She is familiar with sit, lay down, and stay and is very smart and eager to please. I'm sure that any additional training will not be an issue with a little patience.
Ava was adopted on October 1st!Bones was an emaciated five pound elderly Chihuahua when he was found as a stray on the north shore. When we saw Bones he was shaking in a cage at a local animal control facility. We immediately pulled Bones and brought him into our rescue to give him a new lease on life. Bones has been putting on weight in his foster home and his energy level has increased dramatically. We believe his thinness was due to him just not being cut out for being a stray. Our vet estimated that he is at least ten years old. Despite how rough Bones' life must have been previously, he is a sweetheart. He is still very mobile and loves to go for walks (at a quick pace too!) He LOVES other dogs, especially the ladies, and tries to engage the cats in play. He does also love his naps though and is content to rest for most of the day.
Bones was adopted on September 28th!
Chili, Female Whippet/Pointer Mix, 3 years old
Chili is a beautiful sleek young adult dog who weighs 26 pounds. She has a shiny black coat and a white blaze on her chest. She has funny erect ears and a tail with a big loop. She is very cautious of people other than her foster parents. She was found in the woods and the animal control officer had to use a trap to catch her. We pulled her from the shelter because she would only huddle in the back of her kennel and shake. Even when we brought her to her foster home, her tail did not come "untucked" for 2 days. But that was then... after a week in foster care we are seeing some signs of her ability to enjoy life, although she is still very timid. She bonded --tightly -- to her two foster parents and she is very cautiously starting to trust her environment.. She still startles easily, but she is relaxing more. She is a great dog! She is 100% leash trained and does not pull on the leash. She ignores other dogs and cats. She is housebroken. She loves car rides. She has yet to bark. She seems to know some commands. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, and healthy. She is about three years old.
Chili was adopted on September 24th!
Precious Female Miniature Pinscher, 7 years old
Precious. This little girl certainly lives up to her name. Precious is a healthy and active 7 year old female red Miniature Pinscher. She loves to be outside, whether it is walking on the leash, wandering around the fenced in yard or sitting on the deck watching the world go by. She also loves to play fetch with small soft dog toys. She learned "drop it" in about 3 minutes - that is how smart this little girl is! Precious is currently being fostered with two resident dogs and all co-exist happily - Precious would like to play but her two canine companions are just not interested. She is good with children and is both crate and house trained. Small in stature but big in heart, this little one will not disappoint.
Precious was adopted on September 17th!
Raleigh, Male Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog Mix, 1 year old
Raleigh. Animal Control seized Raleigh from an individual on the south shore. Our group was advised of his situation and we brought him into our program the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. Raleigh weighs 58 pounds, he is a little over a year old. Raleigh is smart and eager to please. He is crate-trained and house broken. Raleigh sleeps soundly through the night, he sits and waits for his food, he walks well on a leash and always comes when he is called. He lives for belly rubs and loves being around his people. Raleigh is currently being fostered with 2 other dogs, he is especially fond of his foster sister Harley (see Raleigh and Harley play by clicking the video link). Raleigh loves going for runs and will gladly accompany you on a hike through the woods. He loves splashing in the kiddie pool and will even lie down for a soak. Raleigh has exception dental hygiene and makes an effort to clean is teeth every day, take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ip9P5-_3pE to see him in action. Raleigh can be shy around some new people, but he warms up quickly. He is a mellow dog who loves to cuddle but if you'd rather go outside for a romp in the yard he wont turn you down; he is sweet and loving dog. Raleigh was adopted on September 12th!
Freddy, Male Cairn/Border/West Highland Terrier Mix, 6-8 months old
Freddy. We're guessing Freddy is combo platter of a Cairn or a Border Terrier or a Westie, but what ever he is, he's adorable with a personality to die for! He's 16 pounds, with a beautiful blond coat of hair. He is VERY friendly and seems to really like children (his whole body wiggles when he sees them). He's quiet in the crate and rides well crated in the car. He is submissive to the other two dogs in the home (one large and one small), but mostly he's interested in the humans and especially the 9 year old boy he shares his foster home with. He's UTD and neutered. Our vet says he's very healthy and about 6-8 months old. Freddy came to us via a local Animal Control Officer near Boston who found him as a stray. When his 10 days were up it was curtains for him or off to rescue so they called All Dog Rescue and here we are!
Freddy was adopted on August 19th!
Casey, Male Chihuahua, 2 years old
Casey is a small seven pound Chihuahua who was found as a stray in eastern MA. He is energetic and loves to play with squeaky toys. He enjoys going for walks and will dance around on his back legs when you pick up the leash. Casey is crate-trained and gets along fine with other dogs and with cats.
Casey was adopted on August 4th!
Lizzie is a beautiful 7-8 y.o collie mix. Her owner lost her job and housing and had to give Lizzie up. Although Lizzie is not a young dog she still has plenty of energy! She loves to go for walks and play catch with her stuffed elephant. Lizzie is fully house trained and knows basic commands: sit, stay, lie down. She will bark when someone is at the door, but this quickly turns into tail wagging when you let her know it's ok. She will lie next to you when you are on the computer or working. She makes a great companion for us at the foster home, and there is no question that she will make a great pet for anyone.
Lizzie was adopted on July 27th!
Derby, Male, Boxer/Pit Bull Terrier Mix, 2 years old
Derby. We found this handsome boy at a shelter in Central Mass. He weighs 67 pounds and we are guessing he is somewhere between 18 months and 2 years old. He is an active, playful and affectionate dog who is great with both dogs and people alike. Because of his size and strength we feel he would do best in an adult only home or one with older children as he is still very puppyish and goofy and may unintentionally knock down a smaller child. Derby is smart and loves to learn. He knows 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'wait' and will need a consistent but gentle owner to continue in his training. Derby is also house and crate trained and is good off leash. He would thrive with a family that enjoys being outdoors and that would allow him to romp with other active dogs. Derby loves being with his people and is happiest when giving (and receiving) affection. He loves going for rides in the car and chewing on his favorite chew toy. He is not a barker and is always appropriate with people who come to visit.
Derby was adopted on July 27th!
Lance, Male, Chihuahua/Terrier Mix, 10 years old
Lance is a fabulous ten year old love bug who weighs about eight pounds. He is a lively dog who enjoys running around and playing with toys but he also enjoys cuddling with you in your lap. Lance enjoys meeting new people and experiencing new things. He is not timid like some small dogs tend to be but instead is friendly and outgoing. Lance has lived with young children and got along well with them. He also gets along fine with other dogs and cats. Lance is house-trained and crate-trained and he sleeps soundlessly through the night. Lance was living with a family who had to surrender him because of allergies. The family loved him so much that the man was crying when he left the shelter. He was originally found as a stray last year with a damanged eye. The eye had to be removed but Lance gets along fine without it.
Lance was adopted on July 24th!
Buddy, Male, Chihuahua, 4 years old
Buddy was abandoned with his mother in a crate outside an animal control kennel during a blizzard. Buddy's mother was quickly adopted but Buddy was scared and timid and not well socialized with people. Since he did not show well to potential adopters he ended up staying the next year and a half in his concrete pen at the animal control facility with very little human interaction. When one of our volunteers found out about Buddy she decided to work with him to gain his trust. After a few short hours she was able to put a leash on him and take him outside for a walk for the first time in a year and a half! We brought Buddy into our program in April 2009 knowing that he would need time to adjust to new experiences such as meeting new people and being touched. Buddy has come a long way since then though he is far from perfect. Buddy can be a love-bug and enjoy cuddling on your lap or sitting next to you on the sofa. Once he bonds with you, he is a great little love. Buddy still gets uncomfortable when being petted or picked up by people that he is not very familiar with. He shows this by snapping with the intention to bite. Buddy has bitten on several occassions. Buddy is nervous when meeting new people but he LOVES other dogs, especially female ones. Once he sees other dogs interacting with new people he starts to warm up to them. Buddy loves to go outside on walks and enjoys exploring. He is peppy and energetic when walking outside and is not hesitant at all. Buddy is enjoying his new life. He would love to have another dog in his household to play with and to teach him how to be a normal dog.
Buddy was adopted on July 15th!
Mocha, Female, American Staffordshire Terrier, 1 year old
Mocha was found in central mass by a cleaning crew that was sent in to clean a vacated apartment. The previous tenants had abandoned her and another dog when they moved. Mocha weighs 48 pounds, we are guessing she is just under one year old, she may have a little more filling out to do but she is fully grown. She is up to date on her inocculations, she has tested negative for both heartworm and Lyme disease, she is spayed and microchipped. Mocha is very eager to please, she is crate trained and house-trained having. She knows 'sit' and is waits for her food. She stays off of furntiture and sleeps soundly through the night. She loves playing with toys and does play fetch (in short distances). She is very puppyish and goofy but is not a high energy dog. She has met other dogs and is respectful and playful with them but truly she is far more interested in being with people. Mocha has been introduced to cats. While she appears to be curious, she does not seem to be overly interested. She is outgoing and friendly with everyone she meets and will make a great addition to any family.
Mocha was adopted on July 11th!
Little Bear, Male, Labrador Retriever/American Bulldog mix, 1.5 years old
Little Bear. Rescued from a pound the day he was scheduled to be euthanized, Little Bear is a resilient and gentle soul. We guess his age around 18 months. He is a 63 pound soft and cuddly teddy bear who likes to both give and receive affection. He lives for tummy rubs. In the house he is very well behaved, loves to play fetch with his favorite plush squeaky toy and is an easy keep. He enjoys walks, hanging out in the yard, playing fetch and just loves playing with other dogs. When he went to the vet for his routine vaccinations, the entire staff just fell in love with him and didn't want him to go! If there is such a thing as a 63 pound lap dog, Little Bear is it. He is good with everyone he has met. Little Bear will bring unlimited cuddles and smiles to one lucky family.

He is a curious guy who loves going on long walks and meeting new friends. Fenway is quiet in his crate and appears to be house broken. Fenway is currently being fostered in a home with another dog, cats and a small child. He is very gentle with the child in his foster home and very respectful of the cats. He really enjoys playtime with his foster sister and is like a big submissive mush for her! Fenway has met a handful of dogs big and small on leash walks and has been very appropriate with his interactions with them. Fenway is UTD on routine shots and nuetered.

Toshi is an AKC registered 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier. Toshi is very sweet and loves to cuddle up on your lap! He likes to follow his foster mom through the house and really shows how much he loves human companionship. Toshi loves to run and play fetch! Toshi spent most of his life in a crate because his owners could not care for him properly. Toshi will need some socialization and basic training. He can be cautious with new people and new surroundings but adjusts very quickly. Toshi is an extremely loving dog who will do well in a home that is going to commit to continuing his socialization and training. He is currently being fostered in a home with a young child who he absolutley adores, cats and another puppy.
Toshi was adopted on June 28th!
Scamp, Male, Lhasa Apso/Poodle, 2.5 years old
Scamp is the sweetest, cutest, cuddliest little fellow you could want! He weighs about 10 pounds and has lovely grey and white coloring. We think he's a possible mix of Lhasa, Shih Tzu and/or Poodle! He is about 2.5 years old and is still puppyish. He loves to play with stuffed animals and will fetch them. Scamp loves exploring on his walks as much as he likes sitting in a lap. He walks well on a leash and should go to a family that will walk him several times a day. He also loves back rubs and other massage. He can be shy with people he does not know but he has improved immensely in his foster home and he's now quite friendly with new people. He loves people and wants to be around them, either in a lap or in his dog bed. He knows how to sit and stay and he is a quick learner. He has not been tested with cats. Scamp was picked up as a stray.

Dakoda, Male, Pekingese, 2 years old
Dakoda is a wonderful, cream-colored Pekingese who came to us when his owner moved and couldn't take him with her. He is 2 yrs old and weighs 17 lbs. Dakoda is very affectionate and melts in your arms. He loves to cuddle into you and readily rolls over on his back for a chest rub. Dakoda has bonded very quickly with his foster mom and follows her around the house. He loves to play fetch but will settle down very quickly and rest at his foster mom's feet. Dakoda is house-trained, knows sit, fetch and "drop it" and has learned down, stay and come very quickly. He's very bright. Dakoda is a great, loving little dog, who has not been well socialized with other dogs outdoors, during his first two years. He gets along fine with the resident dog and other dogs indoors. Outdoors, he gets excited seeing other dogs and is being trained. Dakoda will do best in a home that is going to continue his training and give him the love and direction he craves. He will be a very devoted little dog who will keep you amused with his antics and intelligence. Dakoda was adopted on June 21st!
Ellie, Female, Maltese, 1-2 years old
Ellie is 1-2 year old tiny 8 pound elegant yet playful little lady. She was a stray that came to us via a local Animal Control officer. Ellie was so scared when the ACO found her that she willingly jumped into the ACO's police cruiser. It's obvious she prefers people to life on the street! Ellie's being fostered with a 9 year old human puppy, one large 70# male canine and an alpha 13 pound female canine. Ellie is submissive and respectful to them. This is a lap dog who loves belly rubs. All you have to do is talk sweetly to her and over on her back she rolls. She is spayed, UTD, crate trained and is 98% housebroken.
Ellie was adopted on June 15th!
Pearl, Female, Japanese Chin, 6 years old
Pearl is a very sweet six year old, nine pound, female Japanese chin. She is crate trained and completely housebroken - pretty amazing - considering she lived in a puppy mill for many years. After spending five years in a cage, being bred at a puppymill, Pearl was rescued and brought to us. She is still shy and timid because of her abusive past, but she has learned to be more comfortable after spending time in a loving foster home. In the house, she likes to snuggle in a sofa cushion or next to you. Outside she loves to explore and follow the other dogs around. Pearl needs a home that will give her love, patience and understanding so she can continue to gain confidence. She will pay you back a thousand fold when she learns to trust. The best situation for Pearl would be with a patient, gentle person, a fenced yard and possibly other dogs.
Pearl was adopted on June 14th!

She is extremely friendly and mild-mannered. She loves to curl up on your lap and shower you with affection! Aries enjoys going for walks and has very good leash manners. She is currently being fostered in a home with a young child, another puppy, and cats and is getting along very well. Aries loves children and because she would do extremely well in a home with children we are really hoping to adopt her into a family. She is crate trained and is working on her house-training, She is catching on very quickly!
Aries was adopted on June 3rd!
Ginger, Female, Chihuahua, 3 years old
Ginger is a six pound, tan and white, female Chihuahua who is approximately three years old. Ginger is a sweet dog who loves everyone she meets. She is not shy and will run right up to strangers to say hello. Ginger is a lap-dog and loves to be near people. She loves to play and is often "mouthy". This can be corrected with consistent training. Her nibbles aren't painful to adults but it is recommended that the she only be around dog-savvy children. Ginger gets along fine with other dogs. Initially we thought that Ginger should not live with cats because she loved to chase and play with them. However, after living in her foster home with a cat for a few weeks she is starting to ignore the resident cat. We now feel she can live with cats if the adopter is willing to monitor Ginger and verbally correct her when needed. Ginger responds well to verbal correction and is eager for human praise. Ginger has learned to use a crate and she seems to really enjoy it. She sleeps soundly in her crate overnight and will go it in during the day just to hang out there and to nap.
Ginger was adopted on June 2nd!
Whiskers, Male, Mini-Schnauzer, 7 years old
Whiskers is a 7 or 8-year-old mini schnauzer mix. He weighs about 17 pounds and was found wandering the streets of Fitchburg. We think he was on his own for a while, as he is hard to control on a leash outside. He’s EXTREMELY interested in people and dogs and smells and sounds and everything else outdoors. He pulls hard to get to what he wants, sometimes ending up splayed flat on the ground! He’s learning to accept the limits of his leash and the security of his foster family. Whiskers is an angel indoors—house-trained, loves his crate, rarely barks, knows a few commands. Very food motivated, he also enjoys being massaged and scratched—and sitting on the lap of the 11-year-old girl he lives with! He’s a great companion while you work at a computer, do homework, or watch TV and read at night. He loves his people and is learning to love being loved too!
Whiskers was adopted on June 2nd!
Paris, Female, Chihuahua, 6 years old
Paris is a tiny 6 year old pure-bred Chihuahua who weighs about 6 pounds. She was surrendered to us because she was in a home with too many other dogs and was not getting the time and attention she deserves. Paris is eager to find a home of her own where she can get smothered in love and affection. She is a sweet dog who loves to sit in your lap and be held. She will follow you around the house and her little tail wags like crazy when you talk to her.
Paris loves to explore and go for walks.. She has lived with other dogs, large and small, but prefers the company of people. She can be a bit timid with strangers but comes around quickly. She is both house-trained and crate-trained and always comes running when she is called.
Paris was adopted on May 30th!
Otter is a 1-2 year-old male long-haired chihuahua mix. He weighs 12 pounds. We found Otter as a terrified little black dog cringing in the back of his cage in a shelter in Central Mass. He was picked up as a stray and had been in the shelter a number of months. He has come a long way in a short time. He likes to be around his foster mom and gets along great with other dogs. He resided with a 90 pound male dog and a Chihuahua and got along great with both of them. Otter means well but fear sometimes gets the best of him. If he is uncomfortable he will growl a warning. Day by day he becomes more trusting and each day more of his charming personality emerges. He is a sweet, honest dog who just needs a loving family of his own.
Otter was adopted on May 30th!
Honey, Female, Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pit Bull, 10 months old
Honey appears to be half Rhodesian Ridgeback and half pit bull. She is about 10 months old and weighs approximately 40 pounds (she's full grown). She is a very bouncy and happy puppy who will keep you laughing. She is smart too -- she's housebroken and knows these basic commands: come, sit, down, paw, and stay. She loves to be with people and will cuddle whenever she gets the chance. She is very calm and affectionate when tired, but definitely needs her daily exercise. She is great with other dogs and will run and play with them for hours. In her foster home, she frequently --and happily--goes on 3 mile runs with her foster parents. She is a great dog who (like most dogs) needs exercise, love, and consistency.
Honey was adopted on May 18th!
Sammy, Male Corgi Mix, 4 years old
Sammy. I was found wondering the streets alone. I am around 4 years old and enjoy playing with toys, long walks, fresh air, cuddling, butt rubs and food. However, I am on a crash diet, well more of a life change consisting of brisk walks and eating healthier and wiser. Got to get ready for all the upcoming summer action. During down time, I enjoy resting, cuddling and gnawing on a bone. I enjoy playing with other dogs, meeting new people and enjoy children. But because of my strength and sometimes tendency to not want to share my toys, it is best I do not live with young children as they may not understand my particular quirk.
Sammy was adopted on May 17th!
Peg, Female Pug, 1-2 years old
Peg the Pug is a 1 to 2 year old female with a great disposition. She is being fostered with two dogs and an 8 year old boy and would love a forever home with kids and other animals.

Juno, Female Staffordshire Terrier Mix 1 year old
Juno is a gorgeous little Staffie mix who weighs 41 pounds. She was picked up as a stray in Lynn and was too sweet to let go. When her time expired the shelter workers asked our rescue to take her into our program. She’s still young and very puppyish, she is just shy of a year old. Juno loves going to the dog park and meeting new people, everyone loves her and after just a few weeks, all the regulars know her by name. She is awesome with other dogs and is a true ambassador for her breed. She is currently living with two dogs in her foster home, she is respectful and playful with them but just wants a two-legged friend to hang out with.
She is outgoing and friendly with everyone she meets.
Juno was adopted on May 3rd!Chloe, Female Weimeramer, 4 years old
Chloe was surrendered to us by her family. Weimeraners are a sensitive breed and due to changes in their family unit and home environment, Chloe’s family felt that they were no longer able to provide the stability and time that she truly needs to thrive. Weimeraners are a hunting dog, they need plenty of exercise and room to move. This is not a dog that will do well in a city or an apartment-type setting. Chloe is an active dog, she loves going for runs, taking hikes through the woods, rolling in the grass and going for a swim. She is appropriate when meeting both new people and dogs.
Chloe will need a structured home that can give her plenty or consistency, leadership and excersise. Weimeraners are an active, initelligent breed that require more time and energy than most breeds.
Chloe has been adopted!
Polly, Female Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 5 months old
Polly is a 5 1/2 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Polly was found abandoned by her owner...tied up in the back of a building in an industrial area. She is full of energy and very comical. She has tons of puppy energy and enjoys going for longs walks and swimming! Polly is sure to keep you entertained with her clownish ways. She truly is a happy go lucky gal. She is currently being fostered with a small child and another puppy. She really enjoys playing with her puppy pal and is very gentle with children. Polly loves playing with stuffed toys and tennis balls. Polly is crate trained and sleeps throughout the night without making a sound. She knows the "sit" command very well and is working on learning additional commands in her foster home. Although Polly is in a foster home with cats she does not seem to tolerate them very well so it is best she goes to a home without cats or small animals. Polly would like nothing more than a home of her own and a family to love and of course a lap to lay her head on. As a rule, All Dog Rescue places "bully" type dogs in homes as an only dog or with a dog of opposite gender.
Polly was adopted on April 16th!
Johnny Boy, Male Maltese 4 years old
Johnny Boy is a 4-year-old 6 pound male neutered purebred Maltese. His 88-year-old owner has been declining with dementia and is no longer able to care for Johnny, much as she loved him so. All he wants to do is be close to someone. He loves nothing more than sitting in the chair with his foster mom or lying on the chest of his foster dad. He craves human contact. Day by day more personality comes out and he is just adorable, very easy to fall madly in love with. Johnny was living in an apartment with a cat. This is a bright but underprivileged dog that will require a very special adopter, someone who has patience, commitment and a lot of time to keep this young man headed in the right direction.
Johnny Boy was adopted on April 17th!
Raine, Pointer, Labrador Retriever Mix, 4 years old
Raine. Animal Control removed Raine from her previous home where she was left chained to a tree without food or water. She has been slowly gaining weight and returning to good health. She is the most forgiving of souls, despite her past she loves to be around people and greets everyone with enthusiasm. She is very athletic and would do well with an active family. Raine is a young four year old mix. She enjoys playing with toys (ropes and tennis balls are among her favorites). She is very smart and loves to learn, she would excel in agility. She is fully housetrained. Raine is currently being treated for heartworm.
Raine was adopted on April 14th!
Darla, Female Pit Bull Terrier, 3 months old
Darlin' Darla is almost 3 months old, and weighs 14 pounds. She is confident, smart, active, crate trained and is well on her way to being housetrained. She sleeps thru the night in her crate in the foster parents' bedroom. Darla loves to play with toys and to play tug, and she knows the "drop it" command. She is a natural retriever, and our vet said she has the personality of a lab or golden puppy; Darla needs a home where she will be treated like that. She is respectful of older dogs; she has not been exposed to cats. She is fine with kids who treat her well. As a rule, All Dog Rescue places "bully" type dogs in homes as an only dog or with a dog of opposite gender.
Darla was adopted on April 11th!
Chelsea is a fun little terrier with lots of love to give. She's a small dog at 14 pounds and we believe she is about one or two years old. She is very playful and loves attention and giving kisses. She enjoys sitting next to you with her head in your lap while you pet her. She follows her foster mom around the house, always wanting to be near or touching her. She really is a fun little dog with a great personality. She gets along well with other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats. She was a little feisty with the vet but is an angel in her foster home. Chelsea was found as a stray and when her time was up at the animal control we brought her into our rescue.
Chelsea was adopted on March 20th!
Bentley, Male Boxer, 9 months old
Bentley is a purebred Boxer whose owner purchased him from a pet shop at 8 weeks for her high school son. Unfortunately, the son’s gone off to college and Mom has her hands full with her wheel chair bound non-verbal daughter. Bentley needs an active home where he can get a lot of exercise to release his boundless adolescent energy. He will need an experienced dog handler capable of teaching him how to walk on a leash, come when called and to be appropriate with other dogs. Hopefully with enough exercise and training, he can learn to relax and become a canine good citizen. He is friendly and greets all people exhuberantly, he has very little respect for boundaries and we are advising against homes with small children. Bentley loves to play and will stop at no lengths to get other dogs to engage with him.
Bentley was adopted on March 8th!
Betsy, Female, Chow Chow/Lab Mix, 8 years old
Betsy is an older chow/lab mix that was found as a stray in Hartford. She spent time at the Hartford pound and when her days were up and she didn't have a home we brought her into our rescue. She is a very sweet and loving dog. She loves to be near people and to get attention but she is also content just lying on her dog bed or floor as well. If someone is home she wants to be in the same room as them, preferably on the floor right next to them or with her head in their lap getting rubbed. If you stop petting her before she wants you to she will gently paw at you to tell you to keep going. She also loves to be brushed and doesn't want you to stop until she's ready. She is low energy but can put a little pep in her step when she gets excited. She knows sit, down and paw and will eagerly perform them for treats. She shows little interest in cats and only a mild interest in other dogs. She loves to go for rides in the car and is a great passenger. Betsy is a wonderful dog all-around and would make a great companion.
Betsy was adopted on March 7th!
Buster Brown, Male, Pit Bull Terrier Mix, 1 year old
Buster Brown. There is not a single negative thing to be said about this dog, except he was born as a Pit, a breed that is most often wrongly discriminated against. This dog should be the ambassador for the breed. Buster Brownie is a smart young boy who knows sit, walks well on a leash, sits at attention to come into the house and waits for his food even when he's the last to be fed of three dogs. He has no dog agression whatsoever, nor is he possessive about food or toys. He loves kids and wants to shower them with kisses. He is great in his crate and is quiet as a mouse for more than 8 hours at night. He's a petite 39 pound, snuggly and submissive guy who wants someone to love him as much as he'll love them. While he has puppy energy, he can also settle down well for hours at a time. His story starts with being found as an emaciated stray wandering the streets all alone. On the 11th day (1 day past his PTS day), ADR evaluated him and he passed with flying colors.
Buster Brown was adopted on March 5th!
Cash, Male, Boxer Mix, 1 year old
Cash is a sweet, happy-go-lucky, handsome Boxer-something. His mother was a stray and gave birth to Cash and his littermates in a shelter. He is fine with children, is housetrained, displays no destructive behavior in the house when left alone and although he will defend himself if another dog threatens him, he generally gets along with other dogs and loves to play. He has no aggression issues over food and has been eating his food and treats in a room with other dogs. His foster mom is working on his leash walking and his counter-surfing. He loves to curl up at his foster parent's feet as they read or watch TV, but is happy relaxing on a dog bed in the kitchen as well. Although he is content to be a couch potato, he thrives on exercise and would make a great companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle.
Cash was adopted on March 2nd!
Kayla is a 10 month old American Bulldog mix. She was reluctantly surrendered by her family when they accepted that she was not getting the time and attention she deserves. She's a big girl at 67 pounds and stands about knee high. She's built like a furry little tank and will likely have some more growing to do. She has a soft mouth and big chocolate eyes that will melt your heart. She is the happiest most easy going dog. She wants nothing more than to rest her big ol' noggin on your lap and be pet, but if you'd rather go outside for a romp in the yard that's just fine with her too. Kayla has a grin that stretches from ear to ear and when she's excited her whole boby wiggles. She's a sucker for baby talk and will drop right on her back if you even look like you might scratch her belly. Kayla came from a home with children and another dog. She has been friendly with all the new people she has met, big and small. She is crate trained and respects fences and gates.
Kayla was adopted on February 25th!
Gracie Mae was surrendered to us. Her family had to move and were heart broken to learn they would not be able to bring Gracie with them. She is 2 years old, on the petite side, but very solid at 48 pounds. Gracie was raised with young children and would love to be in a home with kids. She is great with other dogs but prefers to be around people, especially women. She loves going for walks and taking in the country scene with her foster family. She is an absolute love-bug and is always looking for cuddles, she has been known to crawl into a lap or two. Gracie is quiet and loving and will blend well into almost any home. Gracie does have a charming hoppy gait; our vets are not concerned that her gait will cause future mobility concerns, she simply walks to her own drum.
Gracie Mae was adopted on January 24th!
Bebe, Chihuahua, Male, 5 years old
Bebe is a tiny five and a half year old pure-bred Chihuahua who weighs about five pounds. He was surrendered to us because his owner had too many dogs to care for. Bebe is eager for a home of his own where he can get lots of attention. He is a sweet dog who likes to sit in your lap and be held. He will follow you around the house and his little tail wags like crazy when you talk to him. Bebe also loves to explore and go for walks outside, even in this cold weather. He has lived with dogs before and doesn't mind them as long as they aren't a threat to his safety. He does get nervous around people when he first meets them but will quickly be won over if they show him affection (and treats don't hurt either)! Bebe gets along well with both the dogs and cats in his foster home. He is house-trained and crate-trained and will bury himself completely in the blankets in his crate to nap.
Bebe was adopted on January 23rd!
